Our Funding Priorities

Gateway Fund supports 501(c)3 designated public non-profit organizations located and operating in Southwestern Pennsylvania that focus on STEM Education and Technical Workforce Development, Human Health and Wellness, and/or Environmental Stewardship. In 2025, Gateway Fund will support five chosen programs with a $10,000 grant.

STEM Education & Technical Workforce Development

Gateway Fund is dedicated to increasing the capacity of the future workforce by supporting youth and adult development programs that promote education in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), or technical and skilled trade proficiency.

Human Health & Wellness

Gateway Fund supports organizations that work to maintain health and prevent disease in all individuals residing in our communities. We believe in a three part approach for healthier living: Act Well, Think Well and Eat Well. We partner with organizations that promote wellness through one or more of these three actions.

Act Well is movement – programs that encourage movement and movement awareness for everyone. Movement is recognized as an important tool in the prevention and treatment of many diseases and conditions.

Think Well is mindfulness and problem solving – programs that teach, support and encourage critical thinking, the ability to use knowledge, facts and data to effectively solve problems and promote overall wellness.

Eat Well is what you put into your body – programs that recognize, teach and support the concept that healthy eating is a critical first step to prevention and treatment of many diseases.

Environmental Stewardship

Gateway Fund provides support to environmentally-focused programs which act to:

  • Preserve natural resources
  • Educate children, residents, and /or businesses to employ conservation techniques in their everyday lives and operations
  • Leverage technology to minimize adverse impacts on the environment
